The Situation Room Show Package

When CNN came up with the idea for a new show called The Situation Room, they asked us to spearhead the team that designed the logo and overall look for the show.  We worked closely with the CNN design group in Atlanta, building designs and animations for the show that would prominently feature two huge video walls as the main backdrop behind Wolf Blitzer.  We were tasked with coming up with concepts that would use what would later be referred to affectionately as “The Wall” and maximize the screen real-estate, while at the same time allowing for multiple feeds to be displayed in real time as news unfolds in front of the viewer.

We created a custom font, dubbed Splice, by marrying a classic serif and a contemporary sans serif.
