Adventure Into the Unknown
Discovery's Expedition Unknown was looking to tell the story of host Josh Gates's journey of hunting down treasures and mysteries of the past. So we set off creating a really cool puzzle box that would take the viewer through the unlocking and revealing of secrets until we found the treasure within - being the new season of the show. But, sometimes the best laid plans don't always pan out. After delivering the final product and toolkit, the project was shelved until further notice. Instead, we've created a Director's Cut and Behind the Scenes. We're extremely proud of this project and thrilled to share the voyage of discovery with you!

The Process
The art of creating the puzzle box was laborious and incredibly fun! From early brainstorming sketches, to full-on concept illustrations and building out details of each puzzle to be "solved," to pulling back and refining as we built the 3D elements, to prompting and integrating AI references, we thoroughly enjoyed the process.
